This was another great issue. I gave the Lensa AI selfie a try. At first glance the photos look good but then when you zoom in, there are some horrific distortions. It's a good reminder that AI really can't yet replicate humans. Thanks for all your hard work and enjoy the holidays.
Hey Hung, 👏 for the newsletter & the live show Friday talking up starting families and maintaining careers. Kind of scary that it feels nothing has changed in 20 years! Lots of anecdotes I can add to the pile here but wanted to ask, where do you see the future of community? What is essential for me is that all have a voice, congregation of thought and debate, and the sharing of knowledge. Are there platforms out there that give all of this without taking? Big questions but I know you got answers! Cx

As for community, I think we will be missing something if and when Facebook / Twitter die a death. LinkedIn actually has a chance, but who knows whether they have any plan to revive groups or whether people will be motivated to return to it?
WhatsApp have a communities feature; Substack this comments feature. Almost nothing feels optimal, so it might be we'll end up having to spend time in different places, having a decent experience but not one which could obviously be better. 'Not sure' is the answer...!

It's interesting that Discord has such a low percentage of votes. I wonder how much of it is influenced by this group having never used it. To me it feels like the perfect next tool for building recruiting communities.
Discord is niche. Even Slack is niche. The reality is most of us are not on community / chat platforms, outside of the mainstream social media networks - hence the original commitment to start Brainfood Online in Fb
Any good tips for optimizing Discord? I tried it twice, but thought it was too noisy each time, esp. since I didn't know anyone personally. It wasn't recruiting related, though, so maybe the experience would be different with a single shared purpose?
