Re: "It’s always interesting exercise to dive into non-recruiting communities to see how they are discussing topics which are important to us."
Love this sentiment! I read Recruiting Brainfood for the reverse. I'm a software engineer who pays attention to what the recruiting community is talking about. 👋. Trying to understand and learn from other professions has been very valuable to me.
amazing to read this comment William! I read it this morning and it really made my day. The recruiter and tech communities really could do with better relations. I am going to WeAreDevelopers Congress in Berlin and talking exactly about this need to bridge between communities. Lets keep talking - here or elsewhere - be good to explore how we can help make both our communities smarter and more tolerant 👊
For sure! I write for early career developers and coincidentally (no, really!) today's post was a primer on the recruiting role/business. A lot of devs have strong feelings about recruiting but have only seen the job-seeking side of it.
With regards to your poll on LinkedIn ID verification. My response is a qualified Meh - with the observation that LinkedIn is already a toilet, so trying to implement some kind ID qualifier, at best, is a lame solution.
Thanks for the tag on the LI verification news. Don't think it was me in the group, but I'll take it 😂
pretty sure it was...

(Please forgive all the oversimplifications I made trying to describe your profession in a short-form article! 😅)
Using a work email to verify ID is long overdue. May also help some to 'behave' better, rather than simply creating a new profile when banned.

do you think that improving the ration of real vs fake accounts on Linkedin will improve everyone's LinkedIn experience?
thanks for your vote Lee!
