I would preferably not go back to the classic 3rd party model but would be likely to consider RPO projects or freelancing.
I also have a couple of ideas for a cool recruitment start-up. If I can figure out a way around the technical challenges, that just might be the path I choose.
I hear you Debolina. I think agency seems like hard work after having done the hard stuff. RPO is probably going to see a surge of mini-operators - not a bad thing for customers!
I would not like to go back to agency, but when all resorts are tried to find an inhouse job without succes, I’d start my own business, maybe even collaborate with others.
I like to think I’m a good or at least decent recruiter, but my strength really lies on the inhouse side.
The issue is that everyone is going on their own, so the competition is massive.
If everything fails, I honestly might go back into a tech role.. I would need a few months to ramp up again though!
There are platforms out there that offer ‘recruiting as a service’.
Reqruut used do something like that.
Basically a company takes care of the Business Development and pull in requisitions. They do a kickoff call with the customer and provides the requisitions with all the needed info on their platform. Freelance recruiters can select roles they want to work on.
With Reqruut the freelancers went through a vetting process (or got handpicked) before they could work on the platform.
I loved the idea and execution, but wan’t able to work on it due to my contract

do you think there will be a massive surge of indie recruiters out there, trying to trade, when the in-house market crunches down?
I think so. Especially for recruiters that do not have, or see, an option outside of recruitment there is nowhere to go.
However, many of them would not like to work at an agency because of how they operate.
I think that the ‘freelancer recruiting platforms’ have a great value now as well.
what do you mean 'freelancer recruiting platforms' ....like an Upwork for recruiters?
