do think it will take off, or forever remain niche, perhaps stay in gaming sector?

It’ll deffo take off. Even with the Metaverse - I did some really cool projects and events with Mozilla Hubs during the pandemic. For example I invited all intern final interview candidates to a virtual version of our HQ office where there were hiring managers and previous interns. Worked a treat for global events. If I’d have had access to headsets to send to people it would have been even better! So many uses in recruitment

Re: Entry level talent. In the software engineering space, I'm definitely hearing a lot about companies cutting back new grad positions and intern programs. Right now it seems to be a mix of:

- Big Tech doing cutbacks across the board, but since they are ones with large new grad and intern programs it has an outsized effect.

- A higher-than-usual supply of senior engineers on the market. Many companies are focused on senior talent while they can get it without the bidding wars of a year ago.

- The difficulty in providing good remote mentoring options. Hiring for potential only works if you trust you can train and make good on that potential.

Very interesting observations William. I think tech definitely pulling back on entry level, and it might be that is the case overall in economy

I have never used an AR/VR headset before. At some point I might, just see what it's like, but I prefer life, live and in-person.

you should - when I first tried it I have to say I was amazed. Potential is there, though Apple's price point will mean most users will end up going for Quest or similar
